Welcome to Kyushu!!!
Kyushu is the third-largest and most southwesterly of Japan’s four main islands, located to the southwest of the main island of Honshu. It is surrounded by the East China Sea to the west and south, the Sea of Japan to the northwest, and the Pacific Ocean to the east.
Key cities in Kyushu include Fukuoka, the largest city in the region and a major economic and cultural center; Nagasaki, known for its history as a former trading port and the site of the atomic bombing during World War II; Kumamoto, famous for its historic castle and Suizenji Jojuen Garden; and Kagoshima, known for its picturesque bay and the nearby active volcano, Sakurajima.
Kyushu is known for its diverse landscapes, including mountains, volcanoes, hot springs, and coastal areas. The region has a rich cultural heritage, with influences from both Japan and other parts of Asia due to its historical role as a gateway for trade and cultural exchange.
Additionally, Kyushu is renowned for its cuisine, which includes dishes such as tonkotsu ramen (pork bone broth noodles), motsunabe (offal hot pot), and basashi (horse sashimi).
